‘Facing the Future’– Building Partnerships that Work

Yesterday (Monday 14th) I was working with Rosemary at the Facing the Future event, held in the Kuumba Imani Centre.  The event was organised by  SEN (Social Enterprise Network), and we were there representing for CoSE.

The event aimed to give organisations an opportunity to discuss changes to the commissioning landscape of Adult Social care, identify opportunities to collaborate, and facilitate meeting and networking across sectors.

Delegates were from a variety of public, private and third sector organisations, all involved with Health and Social Care, and the opeing speaker was Dyane Aspinall,  Assistant Director, LCC Adult Services. We delivered two workshops : ‘Understanding the Future of Commissioning Public Services’  and ‘A guide to successful collaboration’.

After lunch, there were a variety of talks and activities, with Rosemary talking about that make effective partnerships?’, a  Café Conversations: ‘Getting to Know Each Other’  session, a Speed Dating Networking ‘Eyes Down’ activity, and we wound up with and a summary of the next steps to take things forward from Phil Rigby of LCC Adult Services.

A lively (if long) day – with lots of information exchange, ideas and useful contacts made.
